Philippa Pedder
When I move to London from Kingston, Jamaica some years ago I came from a culture where you could get a housekeeper or general help who would do the clothes washing (usually by hand), cleaning, ironing and sometimes cooking for a family of 5 in one workday.  Imagine my shock when I met my UK version of a housekeeper, who doesn’t do washing, or empty dishwashers, do windows, make beds…

I’ve always hated housework mainly because though I have very high standards, I get REALLY bored with doing cleaning and organizing over and over again.  My mother did a great job training me but as she’ll readily tell to anyone who would listen she thought I was the laziest, most absent-minded child growing up.   It turned out I have had ADD all along...

I certainly was never interested in doing my own housework and working fulltime was a perfect reason to have a housekeeper to help with the more mundane, repetitive housekeeping tasks I hated so much.  I've also tried being a SAHM.  It lasted all of 9 months and I had to get back to work.  But I wanted a career and a clean home too.  I loved the feeling of a really clean, organized home but could not find a cleaning service to help me do it properly.  The problem needed a solution so the idea of Mmmarvellous was born. 

A self-confessed hoarder, my biggest housekeeping challenge is clutter - especially when I’m busy on a project.  I just can’t seem to find the brain cells to be able to think of what to do with the statement that just came in that need to be checked before it gets filed or where to put the tons of paper that come from my son’s school so I won’t forget that it needs action. 

My background is in IT with over 10 years experence as a Senior IT Trainer then Owner/Manager of a small IT training company.

My role is to ensure that we maintain our high mmmarvellous standards and to continue to work out new and better ways to help our customers and improve our products.

ly regular cleaning to one that now has five essential services, making us a cleaning boutique for our customers.  Living in London we all appreciate the fast pace of life and how we don’t want to spend time looking for someone doing a job for us, hence the expansion of our business to include these vital one-off services. 

My background is 12 years in the banking industry, working from the counter up to management. So I've seen how important keeping in touch and customer care is to any business.  Of course, having plenty of experience in interviewing has helped me with our most important task - housekeeper selection as well as performance monitoring.

Running a business is different to being employed but I'm happy that Philippa, my best friend, suggested that we enter a partnership.  After now working together since 2002 we’re still best friends and enjoy looking after our clients' pride & joy - their homes.  I look forward to hopefully meeting you soon.

Angela Encarnacao - Senior Administrator
The glamorous one in our team!  But her good looks and fashion consciousness belies her competence.  Angela is usually the first line of contact when you call Mmmarvellous as she's assigned to our New Business Desk. 

Fluent in Portuguese and English, Angela joined us from a popular local hotel where  she was senior front line staff handling guests she's brought those skills to us ensuring our customers always have a good experience each time they call.

Sally Foreman - Senior Cleaning Supervisor 
In 2006 I moved back to the UK after living in Canada and the USA and have been with Mmmarvellous ever since.  My previous jobs were in the catering trade at hotels such as The Ritz and The Four Seasons, and caretaking multi-million pound homes in Vail and Aspen. Over the years I've learnt what it means to our customers to get the service they have paid for.  My mission has been to make as many customers as ecstatically happy as I possibly can.

Since being with Mmmarvellous I’ve worked directly supervising the spring clean team, meeting customers, providing them with the appropriate quotes and conducting housekeeper interviews.   I look forward to welcoming you to the Mmmarvellous brand.


 


Janina Adakauskiene - Administrator

Originally from Lithuania, I moved to the UK 4 years ago with my husband and son.  I'm the girl that assigned to the Allocations Desk.  This job has made me even more aware of the varied needs and desires of our clients and most of our resources go into finding the right match each time.  I'm currently studying Business Administration at University and find my job a real eye opener for doing business the right way.

I speak Lithuanian, Russian and English fluently. I am looking forward to speaking with you one day soon (but hopefully not too often.) If this happens I'm either not doing my job properly or you are a really hard person to please.
